I like this video, you have some good points about how men should or should not be seen. What is the right answer?? Good job!

Men are being affected by and stereotyped as the type of roles they play in movies. I agree with the idea you are sharing, great video!

Nice message. You guys backed up your argument very well and included lots of examples. Well done!

It is hard to hear the speaker and therefore hard to understand the message that you are presenting. I like all the different pictures and examples throughout the video. I didn’t really understand the movie clip in the video. Overall, it was a nice video!

I dont necessarily agree that men are acting the way that movies portray them. I think what we see in media can affect our decisions but not as extreme as the movies portray.

liked that you used a male voice. This added to your message also the clip of the movie you were speaking about added a lot to your message.

  8. March 10, 2011 at 9:46 pm

I really liked how you incorporated popular modern films and showed their hidden meanings. Especially the trailer at the end to help you get your point across.

  9. March 10, 2011 at 9:47 pm

Your points about how men in movies are being portrayed is affecting how real men should be is very true. Today’s society is starting to idolize and repect these characters in the movies because they are funny, when in reality they are losers.

I think this was a really interesting point to make. I think the media effects on men go overlooked oftentimes.

I think your point is very interesting. Personally I love all theses movies, but I never really thought about how it affected men our how we view men in our culture. I like how you used still photos with voiceover along with a video clip from one of the movies. We used the same strategy in our movie, taking a video from an interview, and then using stills as well to make a point about how we are being called the dumbest generation.

Great message, and one that has not been covered yet. Good job using a variety of images to convey your messages, and good comparisons between the past and present.

As a guy I think these kinds of movies are hilarious and entertaining, but they certainly don’t advocate moral or acceptable social etiquette. Great commentary.

I like how you had a guy speak. Your topic is interesting because you are looking at the subtext of movies that most people find very amusing and entertaining

In relation to my video, I think that you bring up a good point of how the changing media and society we live in, expect a certain way of acting for certain individuals. In terms of my video, ski and snowboard lovers feel they need to be high or listen to “hard” music to feel connected, whereas men in your video, feel they need to be bad asses to be cool in todays society.

This video had a very similar message to our video. The way media portrays people to be shaped in a specific way which has us almost “emulating” these people in a way we shouldn’t be (creating stereotypes). Nice!

This video brings up a very good point about how men should or should not be portrayed in the media. I think that this video relates to mine, in the sense that addresses the opposite side of the issue. My vlog focuses more on the impact of reality tv shows on a younger, more feminine generation where as yours addresses the impact of media on men.

  19. March 10, 2011 at 11:24 pm

men aren’t questioned as much in today’s society. I like how you tried to raise these points that don’t get raised normally

This showed something which is rarely touched upon in criticisms of media, the way MEN are portrayed poorly. Usually people focus on women because it is so much more prominent but you did a good job!

i liked the incorporation of modern film.. cool!
